We are thrilled that textile artists from Studio ARTES will be joining us again at our quilt show this coming weekend. On their first visit in 2016 they delighted visitors with their splendid art works, their professionalism, and their warmth. We will once again be donating the proceeds of our quilt raffle to the Studio, to support the fabulous artwork made there.
You might recall that April 2016 was a very difficult time for the Studio - just six days before our show they lost their Hornsby studio space in a massive chemical fire. It was a shocking and disruptive event that left them without premises, having lost vast amounts of artworks and materials, including all of the art quilts they planned to display at the show, and a great sense of loss for the artists and staff. We were pleased that they decided to join us anyway, put on a great display and sold lots of the surviving work.
Now, just two years later, they are safely relocated to newly renovated premises in Hornsby, with improved art spaces, a new professional space in Crows Nest, a very new branch program in the Inner West, and transitioning to the NDIS.
Come and see what they are up to now, and their expanded range of artworks for sale!
