A parade of ‘Crooked Courthouse Steps’

About a year ago, Nerida ran a workshop with us on categorising and using a mix of low volume fabrics in scrappy quilts, using Bonnie Hunter’s ‘Crooked Courthouse Steps’ to demonstrate. It was a great success, and generated a lot of ongoing interest, judging by the number of quilts we have made using the block since.

Nerida’s (third?) Crooked Courthouse Steps community quilt.
The border is an Amy Butler print from some years ago.

Nerida has a wide ranging stash of modern prints,
 including low volumes.

Dawn made her pretty ‘many purples’ version as a gift for
a friend. It was quilted by Laura.

Julie and Jill both made a pile of blocks after the work
-shop, that are being put together into two community quilts
with some from each pile. The second one is now underway.
