New community quilt finishes

Helen gathered up some very large hexagon blocks
(the centres are 2” hexies), she had made, and other people
serendipitously found that they had some the same size
to add, and together they were enough for a good sized bright
community quilt.

Somewhere in her stash Helen also found the
very cute mushroom print for the backing.
 Generously quilted by Laura.

A gift of fabric from a granddaughter and the ‘Family Ties’
pattern by Lynne Wilson Designs
@lynnehqw came together
in Julie’s sewing room to produce this very appealing
 community quilt.

Julie added some fabrics from her stash,
a cream-on-cream print for the border and backing
and binding from the community stash.
Generously quilted by Laura.

Some green fabric is found in all of Elaine G’s quilts, and it
features strongly in this one. Although they are all the same,
interest and movement is enhanced by the alternate
blocks being turned through 90 degrees.

Blue and green play very nicely in the prints,
making up the blocks.

Of course the backing is green too, and accommodates
some of the fabrics in the top.
