Memories
Our memories define our lives. They help us learn, grow and connect us with our loved ones. However when people develop dementia, their memory can fade.
Across Australia, it is estimated that 234,640 people are living with dementia.[1] Nearly one million Australians are involved in the care of someone with dementia.[2]
To celebrate our precious memories and raise awareness of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, we invite you to enter the Making Memories Patchwork Quilt Competition. The competition encourages people to submit a quilting block that represents a special memory to them.
The Competition
To enter you will need to send in your block and an 80 word submission explaining the memory represented on the block.
Three winning blocks will be chosen to receive a craft voucher: 1st place = $750, 2nd place = $500, 3rd place = $250.
The three winning blocks and a further 60 highly commended blocks will be used to create the Making Memories Patchwork Quilt.
The closing date for competition entries is 25 May 2009.
