We have been privileged to have a professional longarm quilter in our midst for several years, and many of our quilts have benefitted. At the close of last year, Jo-Ann Phillips decided that it was time to retire, and closed her business, Quiltwise. We, like all of her customers, are very grateful for the skill and creativity Jo brought to her work, and we wish her well in retirement.
Passing on her longarm machine was, of course, one of the major tasks required in winding up Quiltwise, and Jo has managed its transition to a new owner well. Yvette Aoude, another Fairholme member has acquired the machine, and is now ready to open her business Keepsake Quilts at Castle Hill in Sydney's north west. Jo has mentored Yvette in her preparation for offering a range of longarm quilting services.
Over the summer break, Yvette has generously quilted a number of community quilts for us, as she practised her skills, and they are beautifully done. She is now more than ready to open for business.
You can contact Yvette on 0426 819 066, or yvette@keepsakequilts.com.au
... but you might have to queue behind some of us.
