Show and tell - more summer sewing (1)

One of the lovely things about our groups reconvening after the long summer break, is the opportunity to catch up with the quilts that have been worked on - some we might not have seen before, some we might not have seen for some time. In our second week back, the bumper show and tell continues ...

Pat has done a wonderful job of finishing her 2017 end-of-year
challenge quilt - she started with all of the blocks except one
inside the chartreuese border collected from a number of ufo
donors. Some of the outer stars were from the ufo table,
some made by Pat. 

Ginnie has been working on her pretty lone star quilt for some
time (there's a lot of diamonds in there), and she had to wrestle
it a bit when it came time to put all the sections together - so
she has decided that it it will be a wall hanging, just this size,
rather than a larger quilt.

Susan's 201 end-of-year challenge quilt is another great finish.
The blocks came from three different people, and Susan made a
few to make up the numbers. They were never designed to go
together, but they compliment each other nicely, and the print
Susan found in her stash makes perfect sashing and borders

Noelle made herSew Miriam bag starting in our September
workshop, with light and medium toned prints in gorgeous
colours. She turned the volume up to tropical for the second
bag she made for a friend's birthday.

Hilary had just collected her her richly coloured kimono quilt
from the quilter on Tuesday evening, so we had a preview.

She is particularly pleased with the medium density of the
quilting in a swirly hearts and dragonflies design.

And we persuaded Helen to bring her Big Green Quilt
in to show those who didn't see it at our casual sewing
day a couple of weeks ago.
