The Warped and the Weft
There was quite a bit of interest amongst our community quilters on Thursday when the presence of a blog from the quilting division of Spotlight was mentioned over lunch - so here is The Warped and the Weft, with news about fabric lines, other new products and trends, and the occasional give-away.
Recent posts include news about new fabric designed by Denise Schmidt that is in Spotlight stores now (and if you are very quick, you can enter a give-away that ends tomorrow night), and a link to Red Pepper Quilts' post about her stash of ginghams from Spotlight, and two quilts made from them.

Tuesday evening group 2012
The evening group had plenty of sewing going on (and just a little chat ... it seems many of us have been decluttering), but not so much ready to show and tell about. However, Janet has finished a top from a 'one-fabric' workshop with Margaret Cormack some time ago (could it be five years?). She found the blocks over the holidays, was delight to remember that she had actually bought the coordinating background and border/sashing fabrics from the same range, and her stash produced those very slender sashing strips in just the right colours, so she was able to put it all together in this large and beautiful top:
