Virtual meeting, virtual show and tell

We're continuing to meet by Zoom for the time being, but anticipate that face to face meetings will be resumed soon. This week we were very happy to be in our cool homes as the temperature climbed into the high 30s during a five day heat wave ...

Robyn L leads with the first finish for 2021, although she says
she has been working on it spasmodically 'for some time'. There
is a lot of hand sewing here - piecing, embroidery and
quilting, and a beautiful colour palette.

So much to look at in the individual blocks ...

... and the brilliant choice of background fabric that has
subtle hints of all the featured colours.

Jo-Ann has recently moved house. In the
unpacking she found this finished top that she had
forgotten about, but was very pleased to find.
Unusual, restful colours, and just enough contrast.

Julie is hand-piecing 110 small four patches, with 1”
cornerstones for her ‘Bubble and Squeak” scrappy quilt.
It’s going faster than she anticipated, so she is
thinking about what she might do next, too!

There is quite a bit of hexagon making and sewing in
progress - these are Hilary's scrappy 1" hexies.
Great for comfortable, cool summer sewing.

At least the heat wave could be taken advantage of for quilt
washing and drying, as Sue did!
