On-line show and tell (1)

It’s not all bed quilts being made by Multi-talented Fairholme Quilters, although there are plenty of those too …

Noelle made a beautiful silk bag for her daughter Gretl to carry
at her wedding in the England recently. A gift from family
and home all the more appreciated because the bride’s family
were not able to be at the wedding because of the pandemic.
The silk fabric is from Noelle’s own wedding gown (that she
also made), the loops for the draw cord at the top were on
the sleeves. The exquisite hand embroidery is worked in
silk thread. A lovely gift from a very talented mother,
that will be a family heirloom.
Gretl commented on our Instagram post about the bag
‘The most perfect gift for my wedding, made with love,
skill and talent, I will cherish it always’.

Robyn is renowned for her embroidery skills (in addition to her quilts and knitting). Her cushion for showcases her fine stitching and a sophisticated, calm colour palette.

Louise’s original sketch for her Waratah (below) …

Louise wrote on her Instagram post:
‘Pretty happy with this work for a friend’s special birthday.
Inspired by the fabulous @wattleandloop and using lots
of bits from my stash I think this Waratah is looking ok.’
A bit more than okay, Louise!

Miriam @sewmiriam shares a ‘Happy Saturday’ post each
week on Instagram. her caption for this one was: ‘It’s been a
knitting fest here while in lockdown. There is much to be said
on the benefits of contemplative stitching! Keep yarn and carry
on! This gorgeous Mabel cardigan pattern is free from
@looplondonloves.
My great niece Emma is keeping cosy warm in this one.’
