Show and tell - recent finishes (2 of 2)

More quilts shared at our last meeting, and from members’ social media as Sydney’s lockdown continues …

Janet drew comfort from making these tiny house blocks
(4”) while she spent precious time with her mother who
recently passed away. A second house quilt is underway.

Helen’s granddaughters love her pretty
square-in-a-square-in-a-square blocks, so this
quilt will live in their room at Grandma’s house.

Helen had all the florals in her stash,
and it was quilted by Yvette.

The backing is a beautifully soft Indian cotton
from Tambourine to Tilba.

Miriam wrote on her Instagram post:
‘There is great joy in making quilts but even greater joy in
gifting them. This one is for my gorgeous niece and her fiancé
as an Engagement present. May it wrap them in love
and warmth for years to come.’

Stephanie’s ‘Lucy’s Terrace’ quilt looks quite at home
in the bush near her home. It is a modernised version
of Lucy Boston’s ‘Patchwork of the Crosses’, kits,
patterns, papers and templates available from
Tales of Cloth.

The hand piecing was finished last year, and Stephanie finished
it in her current drive to finish quilts while she occasionally
starts a new one (or more).
