New community quilts

 

This quilt started with a collection of loose blocks generously
donated by Janine  via her friend Susan. Anne organised them
into the centre medallion and designed and made the
surrounding borders.

The completed top was quilted by Laura, and it has been

 added to the community collection.

Hilary searched her own stash and the community stash
for a wide assortment of red fabrics, and low volumes
with a hint of red for this rich, scrappy quilt …

… and paired it with a dainty backing from the community
stash. Laura quilted it, and a red ticking stripe is
a nice finishing touch.

A glorious and glamorous patchwork and appliqué jungle has
been created by Susan Mack from a number of blocks donated
by award winning quilter Bernice Krige, and some made by
Susan to expertly fit them together into a maximalist quilt top.

With exquisite timing, Hilary had donated the flamboyant
floral backing fabric to the community stash. And of course
 it needed the bright purple binding Susan chose.
