Bernina Best of Australia and 2018 AQC Awards

There was another quilt event on last weekend, in Melbourne ...

The Bernina Best of Australia Award, judged between the Best of Show quilts from each State in 2017, was announced at the Australasian Quilt Convention Gala dinner on Saturday night. Photos and videos from the evening are on the Bernina Australia Facebook page, as are the Best of Australia finalists, and others from the four day show. 

National Best of Australia Award:
Sugy Kim from Victoria, for Colourful Retina 

AQC Awards presented by Expertise Events:

The 2018 Rajah Award was presented to Julie Haddrick.
The Rajah Award acknowledges the outstanding contribution by an individual to quilting in Australia.

The 2015 Lut-Da Award was presented to Jan-Maree Ball.
The Lut-Da Award goes to a quilter who has made an outstanding contribution to their local or quilting community via the medium of quilting.

The AQC Challenge winner for 2018 was announced last Thursday: Sue De Vanny's Bordering Extinction,
