Recent community quilts

Team effort: Noelle made these blocks and stitched them into
the quilt top using a roll of batik strips from her own stash
and a cream fabric from Lynette’s. The top was quilted by
Janet, and Jill sewed the binding from Noelle’s strips.

Janet chose a large tropical leaf quilting design.

Louise is finding some slow burning works in progress as she
declutters at home. She donated this completed top to the
community collection, where it was quilted and bound by Janet.

The richly coloured fabrics of the blocks …

… are complimented by the batik backing.

Roslyn handed on a collection of squares and half square
triangles to Elaine W, who found a complimentary spot
in the community stash …

… and joined then into a generous lap quilt.

A year after making the blocks in the 2022
#30daysofimprovqal Jill added borders from her stash and
donated the finished quilt to the community collection.

It is finished with both freeform machine and
hand quilting ( no marking).
