Works in progress

Nearly through lockdown, but restrictions will be eased gradually. So we will be meeting by Zoom and in small groups for some weeks yet, but sewing is continuing, and a big show and tell will happen. Meanwhile, virtual sharing and photos …

Sue’s latest community quilt is based on a layout Lynette used
earlier this year to achieve a chevron design without triangles.
Fabric choices grew from the very cute lady beetle print

Julie’s ‘Ribbon Dance’ quilt is evolving …

… from a hexagon centre. More borders to come.

Sue is building up a collection of English paper pieced stars
and hexagons for a future quilt. Fussy cutting is involved.

Sharron has completed a’Confetti’ quilt top that
is waiting for basting and quilting.

Nerida and Jill both joined in the recent #30daysofimprovqal run by @broadclothstudio and @shannonfraserdesigns on Instagram. A shape was set for each of the four weeks and the same loose design/cutting prompts for five days each week, blocks could be any size. The blocks could be put together in any way, with any additions each participant chose.

Nerida’s finished top is 22” x 24”; Jill’s is 44” x 54”. Now for quilting:
